Switch to Russian

Artem Bai

Artem (Art) Bai started his career as a freelance translator by helping a colleague render a personal letter to a long-lost relative from English into Russian. Since then, he has worked on a variety of much more elaborate translation projects, all of which are described in detail in the Past Accomplishments section.

Born in Moscow in 1977, Art developed his passion for languages by means of being an active member of language and linguistics associations, social and academic alike, throughout all of his school years. From 1993 to 1996, he traveled extensively in countries of Western Europe and the United States. In 1997, he matriculated at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.

Having received his B.A. in Political Science from St. Lawrence in 2000, Art has continued to pursue freelance translation opportunities on a regular basis. Additionally, from 2000 to 2003, he honed his bilingual skills serving as Director of Advocacy and Outreach for the New Horizons Project, Inc., a private operating foundation developing cross-cultural ties between the U.S. and Russia.

Art currently resides in Central Virginia with his wife, Amy, and their cat, Agatha. You will find the necessary contact information here
